Version Conflicts for WinForms Apps installing CR for VS2010 through Click-Once

Greetings:

I am having significant grief installing newly created applications built with VS2012 using the CR for VS version 13.0.5.x.  We have a large number of applications we have written over the years using VB 6.0 and version 10 of CR to the current VS2012 using 13.0.5.x.  I am having issues installing new applications as the Crystal Reports portion of the Click-Once install fails(sometimes but not always).

In most cases I can resolve the issue only by uninstalling all Crystal Reports runtime on the client machine and running the install for my new VS2012 application.  This leaves many of my earlier apps broken, and I must then re-install the previous CR version runtime manually.  This becomes labor intensive and defeats the purpose/promise of Click-Once installation.

A solution may be to upgrade all my apps to VS2012 and the latest CR runtime.  This is not practical as we have many apps (30+ and mostly large 20-50 forms, multi-project solutions, data binding and non-bound) which have worked flawlessly for a number of years that would require many hours of effort to upgrade to the latest version only to maybe introduce new bugs that may cause a halt in production.  Not a viable choice.

Are there any best practices for deployment of VS projects that will allow us to avoid these issues?.

We currently have projects that are using all of the runtimes from 10.x to 13.x:

Regards

Shane
