This is a crystal report for windows app vb2010. using cr for vb 2010
I have created an xsd dataset based upon a sql query as I have always done with crystal reports in the past. I have then opened a new cr report and chosen the wizard, Up pops the usual screen "available data sources". One of the headings is My Connections. In past cr versions for 2008, 2005 for example, I have been able to open this and go to c:\windows\temp directory and found the xsd template and attached it and then selected the fields in the next window of the wizard. In fact I have already done that for 3 vb 2010 cr reports already.
However, now going to create a new report with a different template, I find under My Connections, NewDataSet, (after I press the plus sign ) the old xsds under the new data sets and no way to go to the c:\windows temp drive to attach the new xsd to a complete new unrelated report. (please see attached screen shot)
What is the problem? how can I create a newdataset by going to that directory and clicking on my new template to add to this new bland report as I have done hundreds of times over the years.
Please help. Why are those old datset xsd's showing under this new wizard. And how come I could do this with the very first dataset I created for this application -- a brand new vb2010 application but now am blocked from doing so.
is this some bizarre installation error?
Thanks
