Hi Crystal Community,
I am working closely with a customer and he is getting really frustrated with making Crystal Reports work in asp.net MVC, VS2015 with SQL server. I have shared his problems below and I am hoping that someone might be able to give some guidance. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
"I can set it all up, but how to structure the report itself? is so cryptic and abstract and non intuitive its virtually impossible. The fields I can find in the table easily. I have an Excel spreadsheet with 5 tabs/pages of various view-sets I hope to implement in an automated report. I've done many kinds of programming for 30+ years, setting up a Crystal report has always been hard since early visual studio days, and I always gave up. Its easier to write left handed looking in a mirror.
Now? I have to produce a page in a current MVC app that generates reports, now having to face this monster, so I jump in, try to get any available reference material and its incomplete. I spend hours trying to follow users on youtube showing how to implement CR to no avail.
Currently I cannot even display the report in a View, I tried an aspx web page add-in which youre not supposed to do in MVC and that showed nothing but 404. I click on servers? crash visual studio. Trying one last time to make Crystal Reports work, if I cannot? will not plan to not use it or try again."
