I developed a series of reports in CR 2011 that were running under my clients XP machine for some time now. A VS 2010 application created dynamic SQL to pull the needed data and included an ORDER BY to perform the sort. This was working just fine, Then, I moved the user to a Win8 machine using the latest CR service pack and run time with a VS2012 app doing the same thing. No changes had been made to the code or the reports. On the Win8 machine, the reports sorted in a random fashion. To solve the problem we needed to use the Report Sort Expert and then assign the specific sort we wanted, even though no assignment had been made before.
Any ideas why the behavior changed simply by upgrading the CR run time?
